Acquired by Charities Housing through the HUD Title VI Preservation Program, the property operates with a project-based Section 8 contract to ensure long-term affordability and stability for very low-income families.
The community features a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom townhouse-style homes, thoughtfully designed to accommodate families of varying sizes. Acquisition and rehabilitation of the property were financed through tax-exempt bonds and FHA insurance, supporting the long-term preservation and quality of the development.
San Tomas Gardens also incorporates a resident-focused governance model, with resident-elected members serving on the Board of Directors, ensuring community voice and participation in decision-making. Supportive services are available through Catholic Charities, providing additional resources to help residents thrive.
